For some, the start of a school year signals the start of a new beauty routine – or maybe just a return to a pre-summer program? The carefree days of summer are gone, and so we go back to a stricter, more focused practice as well. Here are some quick and easy tips from our spa to get your beauty routine back on track this fall:
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. If your hair, skin and nails have enjoyed the summer sun and need a little TLC, be sure to get them hydrated for fall before the dryness of winter sets in. Daily exfoliation and moisturizer on your skin, cuticle pushing and a cuticle oil for your nails and weekly hair masks should do the trick! Dry feet? Throw on some Vaseline or a think cream before bed, cover in socks and after a week or so, your feet will be good as new!
Don’t skip the sunscreen. Just because you’re not on the beach doesn’t mean your skin shouldn’t be protected from the sun’s rays, especially your face – and once the snow flies, you have reflective rays to worry about! There are some amazing sunscreens combined with bronzers or moisturizers readily avaiable, so there’s no excuse to leave your skin unprotected. Choose the product that’s right for you and incorporate it into your daily routine.
Cut back on showers. Hygiene: super-important! But now that you’re not sweating as much in the hot weather, frequent showers can strip the oils from your skin, making it dry and flaky. So cutting down on showers could be just what you need to save your skin. And why not treat yourself to a bath or two? Adding essential oils to your bath water can also help hydrate, soothe and add a luxurious twist to your routine…
