Nuptials in the Now

Are you recently engaged and starting to plan the big day? How exciting! Are you looking to incorporate some of this year’s hottest trends? According to Kendra Gatschuff, our Senior Wedding and Social Sales Manager, “Some of the more dominant wedding trends that we’ve seen in the past few years – like that rustic, DIY feel – are still going strong for 2018, but there are a few new and exciting trends that we’re looking forward to seeing this year.” Here is a list of Kendra’s top 5 trends hitting the 2018 wedding scene:

Midnight Snack: More and more couples are planning their wedding with an after-party component. When all the dancing is said and done, and you’ve worked up an appetite, surprise your guests with a treat to finish off the night. From poutine bars to taco stations to cookies and milk, stay on trend by ending your special day on a seriously delicious note.

Make it Marble: From cakes to floors to decorative touches, marble is dominating the wedding scene for 2018. A trend for all seasons, keep it contemporary by mixing your marble with metallic accents and textured fabrics to complete the look you want.

Tech Talk: Want to entertain your guests and make memories at the same time? It’s a snap! While photo booths are certainly still on the scene, gif-makers, slo-mo movies and flip book booths are dominating this year. This is a great way to give your big day the red carpet treatment and up the fun factor at the same time…

Clearly Contemporary: Make your intentions clear by incorporating acrylic or plexiglass into your wedding décor. Tables and chairs, menus, table plans and place cards are all part of the transparent trend. No matter your colour scheme, these accents will blend right in!

Mixed Greens: Greenery on tables and in bouquets has been a growing trend for a few years, but this year green of all shades is a hot trend. Not only the colour green, but greenery itself is being featured in décor, table settings, backdrops, favours, bouquets and anywhere else you can think of. It’s time to go green!
