Wedding Favours: The DIY Approach

Wedding themes come and go, but it looks like the rustic, homemade feel is here to stay. Along with burlap, lace and mason jars, giving out unique wedding favours can be a creative DIY way to keep with your theme.

“Couples are often going for a rustic or country feel to their big day, and homemade – not to mention useful – wedding favours often fit the bill, showing their guests that they really wanted to add that personal touch themselves,” says to Christine Lawson, our Wedding and Social Sales Manager. Add a personalized tag with your names, your wedding date and a special message to impress your guests.

Here are just a few ideas that can really add that personal touch to your big day:

It’s sweet of you to come. A mini jar of homemade jam, s’mores kit, cookies or even cake – all relatively simple, all definitely delicious!

Love’s brewing. Almost everybody drinks either coffee or tea, so a little bundle, bag or box is sure to be appreciated, remembered and enjoyed.

Grown with love. Tree seedlings, seeds to plant or even succulents for a spring or summer wedding make a lovely addition to your guests’ gardens, as well as an eco-friendly choice.

Local Love. Jars of local honey (or anything local) can be a great way to introduce your guests to one of your favourites, while helping out a local vendor or farmer.

Thanks for making the trip. For a destination wedding, custom luggage tags, personalized flip flops or a local delicacy are all fun ideas to thank your guests for their effort and expense.

Guests just love that personal touch, so consider getting crafty for your big day! You might find it’s a little friendlier on your budget too…  Looking for more wedding day info from our experts? Visit our blog here:
